SAFETY COORDINATOR

 

Our worldwide oil and gas client is currently recruiting for an experienced Safety Coordinator to work on a major Canadian pipeline project.  The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating all compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.

 

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

 

  • Planning and implementation of OHS policies and programs

  • Lead and advise employees on various safety-related topics

  • Facilitate and prepare educational/safety training on an ongoing basis

  • Work closely with Human Resources on new employee onboarding processes referring to onsite safety

  • Prepare reports on accidents and incidents that occur

 

To be considered for this role you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

 

  • Three to five years of previous experience in a similar role (preferably in oil and gas)

  • Excellent knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation

  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety

  • Proven time management and organizational skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Formal OH& S education and or National Construction Safety office/Canadian Registered Safety Professional would be a definite asset.

 

This position requires you to live onsite in a camp environment with a scheduled rotation for on/off-site.
